olive oil or cooking oil
(new or used)
scented vegetable wax
1 wick
Color Pellets (optional)

 TOOLS:

Measuring cup
(suitable for microwave)

Eggshells

To create your ecological eggshell candle in a simply with our “DIY Kits”, please follow these steps:

1  With the help of a needle or pin, make a hole in the top of the eggshell. Enlarge the hole with the help of a knife or pencil, carefully, until the yolk comes out.

2  Clean the inside with warm water and soap, place them in the cardboard holder and let them dry. Optionally, you can use food coloring to color the eggshells.

3  Heat the used olive oil or vegetable oil (previously filtered) in a microwave-safe measuring cup/container for 1 minute.
Each egg from this project needed approximately 50ml of oil.

4  Add the scented vegetable wax and mix well until the liquid wax is homogeneous.
For each egg (50ml of used oil approx.) 10g of wax (1/2 sachet) is required.
If you want colored candles as in the photo, add the pellets in the color you want with the wax and mix.
For this project we used:
Pink: ¼ magenta pelleta
Blue: 1/4 blue pellet
Yelow: ¼ yellow pellet
Green: 1 yellow pellet fragment + 1 blue pellet fragment

5  Pour the liquid wax onto the eggshells. To make it easier, use an egg carton as a support.
Wait 30 seconds and place the wick, making sure it is straight.

6  Allow the wax to cool to room temperature (about 20 minutes). Avoid moving during this phase, so that the surface of the candle is perfect. When the wax is solid, trim the wick to a height of 5mm.

Your ecological eggshell candle is ready to use.
